About
A counting desk for New York taxi advertising.
This site exists to answer one kind of question: what is the real number, and who is telling you. It publishes third-party rate figures side by side, the fleet count from the city's own records, and photographs of campaigns that actually ran.
Who publishes it
NY Taxi Advertising is published by Firefly, an operator of digital taxi-top and vehicle advertising in New York City and other North American markets. That is disclosed in the footer of every page. The site is not a Firefly product page and it does not publish Firefly rates.
Every page is reviewed by Melih Koray, Marketing, Firefly. The last review date is stamped in the footer. There are no invented personas and no fictional research bodies behind any figure on the site.
How figures are sourced
- Every rate figure is quoted verbatim from a named third-party publisher, with the date it was read. Nothing is averaged into a consensus that no source published.
- Fleet counts are read from the Taxi and Limousine Commission's own records: the licensing file on NYC Open Data (dataset rhe8-mgbb), the TLC monthly indicators and the TLC annual report. Each carries its date.
- No rate, CPM or minimum budget is attributed to Firefly anywhere on the site.
- The 54 campaign frames from 48 brands are first-party photographs of live campaigns in New York. No stock cabs, no generated imagery. Each caption was checked against the photograph.
- A figure with no named source and no date does not ship.
What the site does not do
It does not sell placements, it does not quote prices, and it does not recruit drivers. The brief form on the home page sends your dates and objective to a person at Firefly, who replies with a straight answer on whether taxi is the right format, including when it is not. What the form collects and where it goes is set out in the privacy notice.
